courses

The TANGO project is based on a series of courses and workshops organised by the main academic partners, Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland), Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and L’École de design Nantes Atlantique (France).

Those courses and workshops have two main goals :

1 – conducting experimental research and applied innovative academic exercises tackling the very core of the topic “Intergenerational Dialogue for Sustainable Solutions”, based on a strong interaction with local partners. The outcomes of thoses courses and workshops will constitute the material for the three exhibitions and the catalogue.

The following workshops have been or are to be organised:

- Workshop I: REPICTURING SUBURBAN NEIGHBOURHOOD, Aalto University, Helsinki (Finland), May 2012

- Workshop II: TANGO scenarios – prototyping empathy, L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, France. Part of the Responsible Innovation Master’s program.

- Course: SYSTEM DESIGN FOR SUSTAINABILITY, Milano Politecnico, Italy (March-June 2012). Part of the Systems Design Master’s program

 

2 – developping academic courses and seminars for the design of sustainable outputs for the TANGO project, mainly exhibitions and catalogue.

- Courses: DESIGN PER LA SOSTENIBILITÀ AMBIENTALE (translation: Design for environmental sustainability), Milano Politecnico, Italy. 1st semester 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Part of the Undergraduate program in Product design. Not open for mobility. Teaching language: Italian

- Course: Designing a sustainable catalogue, L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, France, November 2012 to January 2013. Part of the Undergraduate program in Graphic Design. Not open for mobility. Teaching language: French.

- INTERGENERATIONAL ACCESSIBILITY IN A SUSTAINABLE EXHIBITION, Aalto University, Helsinki (Finland). Autumn semester 2012 (September–November 2012). Part of the Curatorial

 

All the courses were or are open for mobility and taught in English, except where stated.
